Ramadan Charity
Launched in 2011, the Ramadan Charity Drive is an annual initiative undertaken by Waha Capital and its employees and further supported by the company. Every year, in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Waha Capital matches its employees' donations to a selected charity. Beneficiaries have included the Red Crescent, with proceeds going to famine relief in Somalia, or to alleviate malnutrition in Yemen. Recipients have also included the Abilities Development Centre for the Handicapped with the proceeds going towards facilities and services for autistic and special needs children.

Waha Capital is the Community and Education Partner of Abu Dhabi Music Arts Foundation (ADMAF). Waha Capital supports the following programs:

Oily Cart
The UK’s Leading theatre company “Oily Cart” works with the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, to run workshops, teacher development and specialized performances for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Music in Hospitals
This program integrates music to aid patient recovery and lessen the trauma of hospital stays. Locally based and international musicians perform for patients and staff. Participating hospitals include Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Imperial College of London Diabetes, Cleveland Clinic, and Tawam Hospital.

Jazz at Lincoln Center
NYC-based Jazz at the Lincoln Center (JALC) is a not-for-profit arts institution dedicated to enriching, entertaining, and expanding a global community of jazz enthusiasts. This initiative consists of interactive music workshops at three different schools in the UAE for children aged 8-12.

SmallWorld UAE
In 2014, Waha Capital supported SmallWorld, a UAE-based organization dedicated to raising awareness and supporting the work of over 20 charities combatting child slavery around the globe through education. The aim of this 2-day event is to raise funds to support charities dedicated to the liberation and education of children while celebrating the UAE’s multicultural presence. Donations provided through SmallWorld are sent out on the behalf of the children of the UAE to the less fortunate children around the world.

“Iftar Sa’em” Ramadan Initiative
This 5-day initiative in partnership with the Red Crescent was driven by the Principle Investment team at Waha Capital and involved the sponsorship of iftar meals for 100 underprivileged construction workers in tents in Abu Dhabi’s Mussafah area. Through this activity, Waha Capital employees worked closely with the Red Crescent team to manage event logistics and helped serve iftar meals to workers, serving the local community during the Holy month of Ramadan 2015 and 2016.

ATAYA
In 2014, Waha Capital partnered with Ataya, an event aimed at showcasing a wide range of distinctive fashion, jewelry and home accessories designed by local artists and innovators. The project donates its profits to charitable organisations, internationally and within the UAE. The proceeds were used to support UAE nationals serving prison sentences for financial debt, reuniting them with their families, offering them with a second chance at life.
In 2016, Waha Capital once again supported the Ataya Annual Exhibition. The proceeds from this year’s exhibition were dedicated to a noble cause where “Ataya” will plan to fund, design and build four schools in war torn countries across the world.

Orphans Iftar
In 2015, Waha Capital organised an Iftar for orphans across the UAE, with the aim to help put a smile on their faces.
Following a successful event in 2015 and positive feedback, Waha Capital decided in 2016 to host another Iftar for 30 orphans in the UAE and this will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel.
